Featuring a glacial morphology, the park area runs from a height of 900 m asl around the valley floor up to 4,554 m asl at the Gnifetti point, one of the highest peaks of the Monte Rosa. In fact, the park's entire ecosystem is affected by the glaciers that have, for centuries, been the predominant element of Valsesia, and which still today are an extraordinary and spectacular backdrop to the Alagna region.
